Are there any applicable taxes?

Sales tax is currently collected in the United States only, particularly in several U.S. states where Balsamiq has economic nexus:

California, Illinois (including the City of Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Utah, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.

The list above is subject to change based on updates to tax regulations. If you live elsewhere, please consult with your tax advisers regarding the need to self-assess the use tax on your purchase.

Tax exemptions

If your billing address is in any of the jurisdictions above, and you hold exemption status, please send us a PDF or digital copy of your exemption certificate to support@balsamiq.com.

Once validated, we will flag your purchaser's email address as tax exempt, and you'll be able to complete your purchase tax-free.

Note: We cannot refund tax once is has been paid. Our only option is to void and refund the entire transaction, and have you make your purchase again.
