When editing a mockup in myBalsamiq I can't scroll vertically using the scroll wheel in Chrome or Firefox. However, it does work in IE 9.

Chrome 11.0.696.71 (Flash: 10.3.181.14)
Firefox 4.01 (Flash: 10.2.159.1)
IE 9 (Flash: 10.2.151.49)

I even upgraded Flash in IE9 to 10.3.181.14 and scrolling was still fine in IE9.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll ask our developers to look at this. I have a different experience in Mac Chrome (11.0.696.71) and FF (4.0.1) with Flash 10,3,181,14 and can scroll vertically.

Can you report on what kind of mouse you're using?

It's just a plain old MS intellimouse. I've also repro'd the problem on another guy's machine with a Logitech mouse.

I'll try to fire up my VM today to test in Chrome/FF Windows.

Ok, I can confirm that this is not working in Windows Chrome and Firefox, but does work in IE. Very odd. I'll file the bug for our devs to look at fixing this. Thanks so much for the report!

Hi Michael. Do you have any idea of when we might see a fix for this issue?

No, sorry, Stu. I don't have a timeline for when that issue will be addressed. Right now we're focussed on clustering servers and shipping.

Just pinged someone to look at it to see if there's a quick fix.

[SOLUTION]

Scroll wheel works in Chrome on Windows 7 if you comment the following line of javascript:

//wmode: "transparent"

So to apply this solution if you have Google Chrome:

1) load your mockup in edit mode
2) Press CTRL - SHIFT - I (Inspect Element from Google Chrome pops up in lower half of the window. I had to be quick and press this while the window was still loading the flash components.
3) Search for "transparent" in the top right of the element inspector window (Search Elements box)
4) the first match for me is param name="wmode" value="transparent"
5) remove this by right-clicking and saying "delete node"
6) the flash reloads and scroll wheel works
7) Close element inspector with the X and ENJOY your working mouse scroll wheel

cheers
Leo

That may be an artifact from one of the earliest alpha versions where we use Flex for the project browser. We just removed the transparent wmode param and it should be in an upcoming release. Thanks for the heads up!

I am currently having this problem in Safari (Version 6.0.5) on new MacBook Air.

Installed Chrome and it works fine but would like to use Safari.

Thanks.

I'm going to split this out so that we can focus on the problem in Safari in more detail. Thanks! Please reference the new topic here: Unable to scroll in myBalsamiq editor in Safari
