A comment on the question "Usability of MyBalsamiq..." in Balsamiq:
I like the simplicity of the screen. I would add all possible actions for a mockup including deleting and renaming. Another thing the app should have is the ability to copy a mockup from one project to another.
Maybe the modified column can also show the last save comment.
I like the idea of a rollover preview too. Another option is to show a small thumbnail to the left of the name.
One thing that is not obvious is how the user would get to the comment(single mockup) page – Noel, on March 14, 2010 18:29
A comment on the problem "Blank Page when visiting myBalsamiq" in Balsamiq:
I just tried mybalsamiq on Vista machine with Air 1.5.3.9130 and Flash 10.0.42.34 and site works with Firefox 3.6 but not with IE 7. On IE get the "Flash Player 10 or Later required" button, but then that goes away and just left with blank canvas. – Noel, on March 11, 2010 16:44

do you mean you were able to recreate this condition because all seems to work well for me right now. That's why I thought it was something with the person I was trying to work with...e.g. they didn't have latest Air/Flash.... – Noel, on March 11, 2010 16:34

Blank Page when visiting myBalsamiqTried to share myBalsamiq with someone else.
their feedback:
FIREFOX: mybalsamiq progress bar gets to 100% and stays there, forever.
IE 64-bit: no progress bar. click on New, empty page. IE32-bit: empty page.
My guess is that it may have something to do with the version of Flash/Air they have installed, but the failure mode is not graceful.

The issue that I have with the controls on the top right is that they are far from the mockups with the other mockup controls. They are above project desc. project members, etc. not above the mockups themselves.
In the single mockup page I expect Edit to be near the same location as it was in the project page and in the current version Edit goes from the left to the right of the page. With the proposed change the edit action would go from within an image to a button also spatially different. However, if the single mockup page is changed to be embedded in a Flash object then you can keep the controls the same. (click image, select Edit, Clone, Delete, Rename) – Noel, on March 10, 2010 17:17

Just noticed another issue. Most of the controls on the page are on the project browser as depicted above, but New Mockup is up on the right corner. So the user sees Edit, View, Clone, (where's delete) but New is is a totally different place, so you have to scan the rest of the page to find the button. – Noel, on March 10, 2010 16:23

Looks good. How does this fit in with the rest of the page? Also, what are you thinking with regard to the single mockup page? My other concern was that I felt a disconnect between the project page and the single mockup page with the comments. One thing I brought up to Peldi was the fact that in the single mockup page it was hard to read the text on a large mockup. So the zooming feature might be good there as well. Maybe the user can Ctrl-drag to zoom a mochup and drag to pan. – Noel, on March 10, 2010 16:18

I like the direction. My point was that the Flash object breaks up the page and feels out of place and that can be remedied with some design work. Moving the controls to the thumbnail is a good direction. I often find myself double clicking a mockup expecting to "open" it to edit but instead get taken to the single mockup page. – Noel, on March 10, 2010 15:58

I've sent my own feedback either to Peldi/Luis or posted on Get Satisfaction, and I agree with Michael that the web app is missing usability of the desktop app. I think part of it is that it is fundamentally tring to do more, but part of it is the integration of Flash within the web page. The project browser feels out of place it breaks up the page and constrains the app controls to a rectangular region. This is not the case in the single mockup page so controls are in different locations (like the edit and new mockup buttons).
I am wondering if it would be better to do away with the project browser all together and stick with HTML + JS all over the site and only resort to flash when editing a mockup. I think think would be similar to the experience in Confluence. In the FLEX app, it may be nice to have access to al the mockups in the project in a project drawer or something similar without having to go back to the site.

A comment on the idea "Save or export as SWF, not EXE/APP" in Prezi:
post the new thread link so we can comment. I think we are in agreement that current export is good, we just also want to optionally embed .swf on our own site, esp with desktop client where data is behind firewall – Noel, on March 05, 2010 08:30

Yes, I realized it was a bug when I found this thread, but when all I saw was a data folder with an swf I thought I could do what I wanted to do in the first place. publish to internal site – Noel, on March 05, 2010 08:25

Clearer Navigation from single mockup pageI know how to use the breadcrumbs to get back to project overview page, but I wonder if that would be so obvious to a person who is sent a link by a designer. I suggest a Back to Project Overview Button above the image

Full Screen image or Zoom in Single mockups PageWould be good to see images in the Single Mockup Page, Full Screen and/or have a zoom control for the image because it's hard to read small text
