Alex Black replied on March 14, 2010 13:59 to the question "Comparison should include the software performance, and not just hardware comparison" in Snapsort:
We might consider including features like that in the future, thanks for pointing that out.
The "High Speed Lighting" feature sounds similar to Nikon's Active D-Lighting, see: http://imaging.nikon.com/products/ima....
I think both are forms of HDR photography, would you agree? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dyn...
The ability to do that in camera without any effort does sound powerful. How well does it work?

Hi Scott, why not just minify and gz your js today, and put it up beside the regular one? Any customers facing issues can stick with the regular one - people who want to save their customers some bandwidth and time can use the minified/gz one. – Alex Black, on March 12, 2010 02:08

Hi Puszka,
I think we've got the RAW support and ISO support corrected for the S90, thanks!

Hi Puszka,
Thanks for pointing out those issues. I'll make sure we correct the RAW and ISO values.
As far as both cameras getting a con for "low light capability", I see what you mean. We'll have to work on that.
They're receiving a con because our system is comparing them to much better SLR cameras.
What we're going to do in the future is base the pros/cons on the class of camera, so if you're looking at two point and shoot cameras (say the s90 and LX3), then the pros/cons would be compared to other point and shoot cameras, perhaps even other small point and shoot cameras!

I later had problems with TweetDeck which is also an Adobe Air app.
see this thread: http://support.tweetdeck.com/forums/6...
There are lots of resources there on getting adobe air aps working. If I had to guess I think the gnome-keyring stuff was what I was missing, see here:

A comment on the idea "Need some attention to cost/price" in Snapsort:
Can you explain a bit more how you'd see it working?
What about something like: Camera A looks better, but costs $200 more, so you should buy Camera A if these features (X,Y,Z) are worth $200 to you? – Alex Black, on February 12, 2010 20:50
Alex Black replied on February 12, 2010 19:59 to the idea "Need some attention to cost/price" in Snapsort:
Hi, I see what you mean.
I think we've got a tiny bit of what you mean, on this comparison:
http://snapsort.com/compare/Canon_EOS...
It lets you know: "The best price we've seen for the Nikon D5000 is $220 less", but what you're saying is that price should be taken into account in the overall score.
I wonder what you think about this idea: what if we calculated a score independent of price, then divided it by price to get a value, and could then recommend which camera appeared to be better overall value?
Also, we're working on something to let people prioritize which features (e.g. price) are important to them, and then recommend products based on what they're looking for.
The current method of comparing cameras absolutely without any regard for what *you* as a user might want has its limitations.
