v.1.6.8 Crashes on Start
Latest upgrade v 1.6.8 won't start on mac. After I have installed the latest upgrade I get "application has unexpectedly quit" every time I try to run it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same problem,

Inappropriate?Hi Jonathan, I'm so sorry you hit this problem. Let's try this:
- go to #your user home#/Library/Preferences folder and look for folders called BalsamiqMockupsForDesktop
- if you see two of them, move this one BalsamiqMockupsForDesktop.2AC69118EBDF987BED0DDB0FDD08468D6BE55BAA.1 to your desktop (it should be empty), as well as a BalsamiqMockupsForDesktop.2AC69118EBDF987BED0DDB0FDD08468D6BE55BAA.1.plist file if it's there
- try to launch the app

Also, if you could please email me the crash report I would appreciate it so that I can report the bug to Adobe...AIR applications should never ever crash the AIR runtime, so they want to know about crashes...
If this doesn't work, I'll put an older build up for you somewhere.

Workaround doesn't work above as there is only one folder. Highly interested in the product and was almost ready to buy a license but only if it works :)

Hi Adam, so sorry you hit this crash. I am working with Adobe on isolating it. Would you mind please quitting the app if it's open, deleting the MockupsCookies.db file which you can find here:
- On Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\BalsamiqMockupsForDesktop.#numbers#\Local Store
- On Mac OS X: youruserhome/Library/Preferences/BalsamiqMockupsForDesktop.#numbers#/Local Store
- On Windows Vista: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\BalsamiqMockupsForDesktop.#numbers#\Local Store
- On Linux: ~/.appdata/BalsamiqMockupsForDesktop.#numbers#/Local Store
and relaunching the app?
It should fix it.

I know they've been having trouble reproducing the bug that's causing this crash, so getting help from someone who can make it happen all the time would be great. Inappropriate?Mac OS X 10.5.7 with AIR 1.5.1. It keeps crashing, only workaround that works is deleting the one Balsamiq folder that appears in my Pref folder EVERY time I want to run the application. I would be happy to talk to anyone at Adobe or whatever if it will help to resolve.

Inappropriate?Hi all, first of all I must apologize for how long this is taking to fix. The fact that neither I nor Adobe can reproduce the issue makes it very hard to debug and fix. Thank you all for your patience and for your willingness to help debug this.
I suspect that a change we made on 5/26 might have started triggering this crash in Air. It's just a hunch, but as I said before I need your help to verify it. I have created a build of Mockups as of 5/25 (the day before the change) for you to try. If Mockups is currently crashing for you, please install the test version from here: http://files.getdropbox.com/u/41723/M... and try to launch it. DO NOT delete the MockupsAir.db file if it still crashes, just report that it still crashes here - a computer that reproduces the bug each time is very valuable to me at this point in time. ;)
The other hunch I have is that this bug will be fixed in the next version of Adobe Air (1.5.2), which I think should be released in the near future. I say this based on reading the 1.5.2 release notes (lots of crash bugs have been fixed) and the fact that Adobe cannot reproduce the issue. Unfortunately only Adobe Prerelease members have access to the 1.5.2 version of Air at the moment. If Mockups is crashing for you and you happen to be on the Air pre-release program, please oh please get in touch with me at peldi@balsamiq.com, your help will be invaluable to me right now.

Application-created SQLite3 file, "~/Library/Preferences/<balsamiqmockupsfordesktop>/Local Store/MockupsCookies.db" causes application to crash upon launch.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Download and install product from Balsamiq web site.
2. Launch application.
3. Quit application.
4. Launch application.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
User expects working application upon launch. Working application is defined in this report as an app which fully launches, presenting the UI to the user; actual functionality not considered.
ACTUAL RESULTS:
Downloading and installation complete successfully. Initial application launch is successful, though there is a menu rendering defect; upon launch, there are two Apple () menus instead of one - the second is non-functional. Subsequent app launches are unsuccessful.
REGRESSION:
Deleting "~/Library/Preferences/<balsamiqmockupsfordesktop>/Local Store/MockupsCookies.db" allows application to launch successfully; this file must be continually delete for subsequent, successful launches. I have not yet had an opportunity to use the product; the importance of persistence within the file's data is undetermined.
NOTES:
Operating System: Mac OS 10.6 WWDC Build 10A380
Adobe Air: v1.5.1
BalsamiqMockups: version unknown; binary used was available from web at 2130 Friday 18 June 2009.
