Symbian Mockups
Symbian is a very popular mobile OS and creating applications there will be much more important once the final Qt/S60 port comes out in a couple of weeks. Since Balsamiq has already a mockup template for iPhone app designs, I was wondering if other users believe Symbian (and Android-- already asked by another customer) should be targeted in the near future.
We will definitely need some help designing widgets and applications for the new N97!

Inappropriate? Here are some images [youtube.com] of how applications and widgets should look like on the latest Symbian UI.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? You might also find this new wireframe interesting! What about implementing it in Balsamiq?

Inappropriate?Hello Kensai, from a first look at the wireframe it seems to me that you could already build all of it in Mockups today, just like I built Android UI elements here: http://mockupstogo.net/android-controls
What do you think?

Inappropriate?Actually yes. I don't complain, the functionality is already all in. :)
Nevertheless, since software development for mobile devices has become so important perhaps it would be wise (although not high-priority!) for 2010 to implement the various designs as first-class citizens in Balsamiq, with their respective tabs and special screens/buttons. At least for iPhone (already done!), Android, and Maemo which are currently the three most promising platforms.
Don't get me wrong, the solution for Android is already nice. I'll try to implement a similar solution for S60 and Maemo. But you know: better is the enemy of good...
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I agree it would be useful to have support for Symbian devices. Or what would be better is if users can add/share their templates to be included as part of the app, just like Photoshop plugins.

Yup, we're calling those "components" and are starting to work on it right now! http://www.balsamiq.com/blog/2010/02/... - we'd love your feedback!
