Select a UI Control added via Quick Add
After adding a UI Control from the Quick Add, I would like that control to be selected. Sometimes I have trouble finding the control that gets added, because it shows up in a busy part of the canvas. If it was selected I could jiggle it with the arrows, making it easier to find.
It would also make it a little more consistent with the interaction of dragging a control from the library to the canvas. Dragging puts the control in edit mode, but I think that is overkill for the Quick Add; selection would be sufficient.

Inappropriate?Hi there. I just published a new build (1.1.46 for Desktop), which selects controls after quick-add.
It will not help you with the problem of finding items though, since focus will stay in the quick add field and the arrows won't nudge the controls while control is in quick-add (since quick-add needs the arrows for its own lists, and I want to keep focus on quick add for rapid-fire adding).
Still, I think it's a worthy improvement. -
Inappropriate?Hey Brian, I just published a new build which lets you "ESCape out of quick add", to solve your problem. Here's the new workflow:
1. type "/" or click to go to Quick Add
2. type a few letters to choose the control you want to add
3. type ENTER, the control will be added and selected. The list disappears
4. type ESCape. The selected control will now be in focus so you'll be able to nudge it around with the arrow keys, hurray!

I’m happy

Inappropriate?Ooo that's a tasty workflow. 5 keystrokes to add a widget and put me back in control, and I don't have to touch the mouse.
As I play with it, I'm wondering if an accelerator on the arrow keys would be a nice feature. Hold down the arrow key for more than 1 second and the movement of the widget doubles in speed. Have to think about that one some more; might be situations where it gets in the way.
I’m stoked

SHIFT+arrow should power-nudge (I haven't tested it in a while, I hope it still works). -
Yes, it seems to work, but I like your idea of the "hold down shift"...one day. -
Peldi, is there a list of all of these shortcuts/tips/tricks somewhere? -

Inappropriate?Ah, shift+arrow is what I need. Still working on memorizing the shortcut list :)
