Resizing data grid columns

Sometimes I need to control the width of one or more columns in a data grid, e.g. to put icons in them. I usually do this by putting a bunch of spaces in them, but that's awkward. It would be better to be able to resize columns by using the mouse to drag the line separating the columns.
