I’m sad

Need support for more than one sortable column in the data grid.

Edit Subject

It would be nice if the data grid/table control would let you specify more than one column with a sort order. For instance, creating a date column that could be selected for sort and then a last name column that could be sorted. This gives our users more flexibility so it would be nice to be able to mock it up.

Sorry you're sad. I'll add your feature request if you can clarify a little.

Are you simply wanting to add another icon to one of the headers in a table? Do you have a screenshot to illustrate what you'd like to be able to mockup? The workaround for now could be to overlay an icon.

Hi Michael,

Yes, I would like to be able to represent that more than one column is sortable in my mock-ups using the "^" value in the standard Balsamiq table/data-grid control. I understand that I can copy in my own image as an overlay, but it would be nice to be able to just add multiple "^" when I'm defining the column headers.

Currently I can only designate one Data Grid column as sortable (by inserting the ^ character) - this character doesn't render to the arrow icon after its first occurrence. As Data Grids can have several, or all, columns as sortable, I think this feature makes sense.

I'm setting up a data grid. However, when I try to insert multiple sort icons in my header (i.e. ^) Balsamiq will only display the first sort arrow as an icon and the rest as plain text. Below is my header row and attached is a screenshot of what I see.

Also to have up and down sort arrows in the same display as the current 'blocked' up arrow.
