My washing machine on Balsamiq

Balsamiq is a great tool to design our prototype website, iPhone apps, software and who knows how many digital artifacts n the future. So, what about if I try to use in an improper way? What about if I use it to improve, for example, the interface of my washing machine?

Well if you look after washing machines in a mall probably you'll see something like mine (sorry in Italian).

Something over complicated. And if you, like me, pretend to interact with this at 7AM, well this is too much even if you've been using since some years.

So I'm not thinking a geek one with LCD or touchable interface. I'd like to improve it and just leave analogical and old style as it's right now.

At the same time it's interesting to see how good and flexible Balsamiq is to do something that wasn't projected for. And who knows maybe is a tip to draw new sets.

So first step was to simplify as much as I could. So I decided to cut the washing path and all-the-iper-detailed options available. I just need to distinguish between cotton and delicates and the last one collect options like: handmade, wool, synthetics. To be green 90° washing is also to throw away.

Later I realized that two choices could be optimized in one.

I even developed my own interface. Weird that is almost translation of the previous.

And finally I completed my develop with some option that might be useful even not necessary: filter check to clean, service for dysfunctions and end washing to alert when finished.

Well thank you for your attention and sorry for my English. As my washing machine, I know it's improvable.

I look forward to read your feedback.
