Mockups not producing anything in the ticket log
In creating a Mockup I would expect Mockups to generate some logging (similar to attaching a file).
Otherwise no email notifications are produced (which we use a lot).

Inappropriate? This makes perfect sense and should be doable. In fact, I'd call it a must have.

Inappropriate?Hi Peldi,
Thanks for making that change. In using it over the weekend I have a couple comments on how it is implemented vs. how I would expect it to work.
Currently any time I make an update to a mockup, a comment is inserted (ex: "Worked on UI Mockup: 2008-09-06 13:55"). This is a step forward, but over time this type of logging clutters the JIRA issue.

Here is what I had in mind. Create a custom event (I think the JIRA terminology is a change in field status) that changes each time a mockup is added/edited (much like when an attachment is added/deleted). The advantage there is that comments should be restricted to team members describing the changes they have made. Also, because Mockups is so convenient in JIRA, I find myself making many, many small updates to the mockups - resulting in many, many entries in the issue's comments.
You will probably come up with a very elegant solution, but what I would like is for an entry to only show in the "All" tab of a JIRA issue. I don't want to see everything in the comments, but when I look in the "All" tab, I would expect to see more detail (what mockup was added, deleted, etc)

Thanks!

Inappropriate? You know, I was just thinking about that yesterday. I'll look at the "change in field status", but I was also thinking of allowing you to specify what you wanted the comment to say and have a checkbox that says "minor edit, no comment", which you could uncheck when you are tweaking a mockup over and over. Thoughts?

Perfect, I'll implement it tonight! -
Inappropriate?Ok, the change is live (see the other topic for a screenshot). If you just hit "save", nothing will be added to the comments. I decided to stick with using the comments field for simplicity.
