Let's have the list on all open files in the 'Window' menu
With many mockups open, it is no longer possible to know the mockup name from the tab. Can we have a menu item Window that lists all the open mockups? That way we could find the one we are looking for and go directly to it, rather than clicking through all the tabs. If 'Window menu is not an option, the list of open mockups could be under 'Edit' menu item.

Inappropriate?Hi Victor. Have you updated recently? The tabs at the bottom now have a tooltip with the full file name in it. I know it's not the answer, but it's a workaround available today...
-
Inappropriate?Frankly, I do not like the tooltips. They obstruct tabs, prevent them from being clicked on, and make it even more difficult to find the correct tab. The list in the menu would allow me to see a lot of filenames at once, no matter how long the names are (and mine are long).
-
Inappropriate?I prefer to place the tab on the left or right, so I can see all the open mockups without to open a menu.

Inappropriate?Got it. I knew the tooltips weren't a great solution, but it has helped some so I thought I'd mention it.
The plan to solve this issue is to introduce the concept of projects to the app. We have already done it on the web app (now in closed private beta), and will gradually bring it to the desktop as well. Each project has different views: thumbnails, list or site map.
In other words, hang in there, we'll get to it. :) -
It's great to know that you have plans for multiple views of "projects" - it will be useful to be able to see the connections between my wireframes in different ways.
That said, even with the implementation of different view I would still find a list of open files displayed under the "View" or a new "Window" menu to be very helpful, mainly because it will always be faster and take less mental effort for a user to select the name of a specific mockup from a menu than it would be to first change the view of the project to one that makes a representation (name and/or thumbnail) of each file visible at one time, then find the representation of the desired file, selecting that representation and opening the file in the standard "editing" mode. -
Inappropriate?Hi,
I was Googling for a similar problem and came upon this discussion. I am not sure how to include the list of open windows in the menu. I do understand that it has to be something dynamic or some action listener which keeps tab of open windows and displays them. But not sure what exactly it is.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
TIA. -
Inappropriate?Hi there! I thought I'd show some mockups of our current plans regarding the project feature and how it will solve the "many mockups in a project" issue discussed here.
So, we plan on porting the project feature to the desktop (now it's only in the web version), making it match the web UI as much as possible, since the plan is for the two to be able to sync with each other seamlessly.
Here's a typical "project overview" view:

Once you edit a mockup, the view switched to one of these:

Now, if you decide to put the "project browser" at the bottom instead of on the right, the thumbs view will be a row of thumbnails, the list view will be the tab view you have today and the map will be...the map.
The graphics are far from final, but this should at least give you an idea of where we're headed.
No ETA yet, but we know this is a VERY important feature for us.
