different deployment options in confluence when saving mockup
Looking for a couple of options when first-time "deploying" a mockup to a confluence page
(o) embed
( ) link
( ) both
(o) top of page
( ) bottom of page
Obviously, these are only really useful when first-time saving - once the {mockup} macro is deployed on the page, these options aren't needed, but if they were part of the "save" dialog from Mockups when creating a new mockup, they would save me a step every time I'm adding a mockup to a page i've already created using a confluence template.
I'd also like to have the option in the macro to present either a link to the png or the embedded thumbnail, or both. Yes it can be done "manually" of course after the first-time save by looking up the attachment name and creating a link, but again, looking to save a step.

Inappropriate?I like this idea. I think it is somewhat frustrating that the mockup is always inserted at the top of the page. But I'm not sure that inserting it at the bottom of the page everytime would necessarily be any better.
It would be really nice if somehow you could create the mockup at the same time that you are editing the page contents, that way you could insert the macro wherever your cursor is positioned.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. I agree with Brian that being able to insert a mockup "where the cursor is" at edit time would be ideal, but the Confluence APIs don't really support that workflow.
As for dan's options, can you tell me more about why you sometimes want to only link to the mockup's picture instead of embedding it? Did you know you can specify the width of the embedded image in the macro? http://www.balsamiq.com/products/mock... - perhaps it will help.

Inappropriate?Thanks Peldi!
My primary scenario is the use of mockups as supplemental to software specifications - we use a confluence template (confluence version 2.10.3, in case that matters) for each "use case", and while not every use case needs a mockup, embedding the picture isn't really practical in most cases (depending on size of course), even with the constrained pixel width feature - just given all the other writing that goes on the specification page.
Certainly we can work around this, by creating a link to a child page that then has nothing but the {mockup} on it.
I suppose my real dream would be to be able to "pre-load" a {mockup} macro in the confluence template, which could function as the "cursor point" even though the mockup hasn't yet been added to the page. In that scenario, you could even have the on-page link be "add mockup here", changing to "edit this mockup" after creation.
While I'm dreaming, I would also like to be able to put a border around the mockup, and have it clickable to open "full size" if I've constrained it (as the existing confluence thumbnail feature does for other .png files).
I’m appreciative

Dan, you're on fire! These are great ideas, let me mull them over a bit. Thank you so much!
