Default path saving a clone
I'v seen, that this was an issue about 1 year ago. When creating a clone and then save it, the default folder should be the folder where the original is. Every time when i start Balsamiq (desktop edition version 1.6.70), the default folder is set to "Desktop". After choosing the right folder and saving the next file the path is correct. If I remember right there was a change a few versions ago, that the chosen path will be rememberd. But if there is no path set, the project path from the original file would probably be the better guess then "Desktop". This is only once after startup but its a little annoying anyway. It's just a little thing but it would be great if this could be changed sometime.

Thanks Bruno. You're right it's a little annoying but like you said, it happens once per install. We have it on the list to improve this, but it will take a little while before we fix it, lots of bigger fish to fry right now!
Thanks so much for reporting it, we'll get there one day! :) -

I noticed the same. I thought that this behaviour was previously addressed. But when I do the following:
- I open a mockup from path MySpecialPATH
- I clone it and intend to save it in MySpecialPATH as well
- I end up on the Desktop
I think it should use the existing path of the mockup which I cloned.
It is always easy to get to the desktop (Win + OSX) but to go to MySpecialPath is mangnitudes slower.-
Hi Besi, we'll do this.

Hi Bruno and Besi, sorry for the long silence!
We implemented this feature some time ago. You can download the current version from balsamiq.com.
Ciao

We just improved this feature so that it finds the right project assets in the newly cloned mockup as well. Check it out: http://blogs.balsamiq.com/product/201... -
