Crop mockups?
Is there a way to crop a mockup so that I can export to PNG and end up with an image that only contains the mockup? Right now I end up with a large canvas, and only some % of the canvas is occupied by the mockup artwork. I have to open the PNG in another application (eg Photoshop) to crop it down to the desired canvas size.

Inappropriate?Hey Jim, this seems like a bug to me. What you ask for is exactly how the software _should_ be working...it's almost as if you have a ui control stuck somewhere in your canvas. Let's try this: if you do a "Select All", is the selection rectangle huge? Another thing to try is to create a new simple mockup (maybe even closing all mockups and restarting the app before trying, to be extra sure) and trying to export that one.
Let me know how it goes, depending on what you find out I'll be able to help you better. -
Inappropriate?I created a new (blank) mock and added one button. Then I did "select all" and noted that the boundary is very close to the visible borders of the image. Pretty much where I would want it to be, so I wouldn't even have to crop at this point. But when I export to snapshot, the resulting PNG is about 50% larger. See attached image

Inappropriate?Oh, I see. Yes there's a border around the mockup, I think it's 16 pixels all around. It's very noticeable in very small mockups like the button above, less in larger mockups. Is that what you're referring to when you said "large canvas"?

Inappropriate?Well, I think so. I just created a new, larger mockup, then selected-all and noted that the visible boundary (where the handles for resizing appear) is within 3 pixels of the visible border. The visible border of the "sample window" is approx 260 x 240 px. Then I exported to PNG and noted that the image canvas size is considerably larger (308 x 290). See attached image, which I've annotated in Photoshop.
I would like to be able to select and crop canvas to selection, as you can do in Photoshop and Snagit.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the screenshot Jim. I think I know what's happening. While the top and left "padding" areas are correct, it seems that there's a bug with the right and bottom corners...I think it's because I add a "created with mockups" watermark there when you export from the web version. If I made all four padding areas the same size as the top and left ones, would that solve the problem for you? I realize that it's not as powerful as a full featured crop feature, but it won't feel "broken" like right now, would you agree?

Inappropriate?Yes, that would be great. If I want to crop more finely, I can always open the PNG in Snagit or PS. Thanks!

Inappropriate?Ok great, I'll fix that as soon as I can.
